These are the few words of wisdom with which Dumbledore welcomed his students at the beginning of their year. Wise-sounding or not, these were wise enough to be remembered for years on.
Although, LUMS is no Hogwarts and yet, we at LES do intend to make it as magical as possible and that too without the hats and the cloaks!
We offer lesser wise words and more of the experience –an experience that in itself bequeaths wisdom .A wisdom that befalls from meeting people,learning new ideas ,adopting new skills ,facing competitions and finally learning about wining and losing and accepting and challenging all that comes our way.YLES is more than a mere conference ,it makes us learn who we are and prepares us for bigger things-such as life itself!

The vision behind this mega conference is to instil in the youth of the today the confidence, skills and the ambition to be enterprising-to innovate and then create. This can-do spirit has become even more important in the fast changing and diversifying economic and political environment of today.
YLES 2010 with its ‘sustainopreneurship’ agenda not only aims to introduce this culture in the society but seeks to transform attitudes and change mindsets. It seeks to challenge the institutional framework of the society which will be the first step towards bringing a positive difference in the system. Meet the Directorial board

Osama Nadeem is a junior at LUMS majoring in Economics and is Director Publications for YLES’10. Osama has worked, written and edited for various publications including ‘Enspire’, LES’s prestigious entrepreneurship magazine. Besides his love for writing and a keen interest in political economy he also enjoys eating good food and playing Tennis. Armed with the innate satirical abilities and grammatical prowess of Arsalan Khalid, the AD publications, the department promises a publication that is bigger, better and more innovative than before.        

Ever wanted a mirror with a memory? Or wish to know the secret to a secret? Fear not, for all these will be made available to you throughout YLES ’10, courtesy the Media and Coverage department. Be it the delegates presenting their ground-breaking business idea, or heads lolling away during a workshop, every moment that is meant to be captured, will be captured. 
Director Media and Coverage, Shaiza Qayyum is an Economics Major in her third year, and has been a member of LES since her freshmen year. She has worked in the Media and Coverage and Publications Department at YLES 08 and YLES 09 respectively. This year, Shaiza’s creative and inventive ideas, and her Assistant Director, Yahya Fareed’s unparalleled technical ability will help us bring to you all those behind the scene frenzy and during-the-conference action in a way that brings a smile to your face and gives you a rush of nostalgia 

Concocted after nights of drama, arguments, debates and conflict resolution is a spectacular and bedazzling series of fun packed, glamorous nights that elevate the entrepreneurial spirits of the delegates to new heights and celebrates their success in the grueling competitions. Minahil Niazi, Director social events is a junior at LUMS and is assisted by Zara Salman and Danish Rizwan. They have put together a spectacular array of evening set to enchant you in this entrepreneurial summit. So get ready for an interesting journey!

Momna Ezad is a senior at LUMS, majoring in economics and politics. She along with Khurram Rasheed has an ambitious strategic plan to elevate YLES’s reputation and profile nationally and internationally. As a team, they will ensure the sanctity of judgment at the competition by maintaining a respectable and highly regarded profile of judges that are to be invited at YLES. Primarily, they will act as the principle liaison between the host team and the honorable panel of adjudicators. Moreover, they will be providing strategic, research, advisory and operational support to the whole team.

Musaddiq Nawaz is a Junior at LUMS majoring in Accounting & Finance. He is LES’s Chief Financial Officer and is handling Registration & Delegate Affairs at YLES’10. Besides his love for Investment Banking and an ‘unusual’ interest in ‘hostile takeovers’, he also enjoys football & engaging in 'charged’ political discussions.upported ably by a brilliant team consisting of Assistant Directors Nur Azam & Nadia Ashraf and Support Manager Fahd Mukaddam, registration at YLES’10 promises to be a different experience for you. Since the department itself, in part owes its very existence to you, rest assured you are in good hands both before and during the event. :) 

Maria Farooq is a Law major in her third year and is Director HR for YLES’ 10. She is responsible for monitoring the functions of each department and catering to their needs. Be it recruiting staff or tracking down the existing members, the HR department is always on the go! Since the HR department needs to be everywhere it believes in maintaining good relations with almost everyone. Blessed with a brilliant AD, Salma Chaudhry, the HR department is all set to face any challenge that comes its way. Both the girls believe in trying to keep the pressure to a minimum and working with a positive mind set. Their strategy is simple: Work hard, play harder! 

Inam Ulhaq is a sophomore and an ACF major. He is the Director Male Accomodation for YLES  ’10 and hence will be your babysitter for the five days you will be here. He will make sure that you sleep and wake up on time and make your beds!
Inam and his AD Razik Farooq, another sophomore and an ACF mojor, look forward to making your stay at YLES’ 10 safe and comfortable.

Sidra Sajid is Director Visa and Protocol. She is a third year student majoring in Accounting & Finance. She joined LUMS Entrepreneurial Society in her freshmen year and managed to successfully juggle society tasks with her studies. Her hard work and passion to succeed has enabled her to move up the hierarchy of positions in the society. Currently, she is working as Director Visa & Protocol for YLES with Turrab Hassan as her Assistant Director. Her department coordinates with institutions across the globe, invites them to participate in YLES’10 and manages their stay at LUMS for the summit." 

Sameer Afzal Farooqi is Director Security for YLES 10. He’s also Director Entertainment but that's a different story. Sameer is lucky to be assisted by two hard-working ADs, Taimoor Ali and Rizwan Umer. Sameer and his team are everywhere, all the time, so don’t mess around because they will be watching!  

Tanzeel Azam is the Assistant Director Business Events. Whenever you come across insane loud music on campus especially in the dorms that’s where you will find him.  Tanzeel’s team is taking care of all the business events at YLES ’10. So if you have any problems or confusions regarding any of the business events (BIC, Play it, Social Enterprise Challenge, Leaders quiz, Case Study) , then he is the person to go to. Find Tanzeel and his team at YLES’10, they’d be more than happy to help! 

Namra Najeeb joined LES two years ago and has risen to the position of Senior Manager Finance. Having been with LES for so long Namrah knows well that behind the crisp and flashy suits is a team of hardworking individuals, managing and organizing multifarious events all year round. As Director of Accommodation YLES’10 she and her team bring the same enthusiasm to cater to your accommodation needs and hope you enjoy your stay at YLES ’10. 

YLES '09 proved to be phenomenal for Babur. As A.D 'Registrations & Delegate Affairs', he thoroughly enjoyed the countless hours spent working with the host team and the delegates, who came from all over the country but shared the with the host team a spirit of entrepreneurship. This year as Director Finance Babur Chowdhrey hopes to find himself in a similar challenging environment, where there really is no limit to how much you can learn or to how much fun one can have. With his ADs Jawwad Mehmood & Wajdan Mehfooz and with Amna Abbas in his support team he is confident that the YLES host team’10 will recreate the energy of YLES’ 09.

Syed Saad Shah, is a Senior at LUMS majoring in Economics. He has been associated with LES for the past three years and at YLES’10, he is the director for the nationwide promotions of the event. Supported by Assistant Director Rabia Ahmad and a diligent squad of managers, External Promotions have made zealous efforts to cover diverse parts of the country ranging from Dera Ismail Khan to Karachi. Equipped with promotional material, this team has presented at every institute offering A-levels or undergraduate equivalent degrees in Pakistan, to craft awareness of YLES’10 under its enlightening theme “Sustainopreneurship”. So to all those bright minds out there, External Promotion welcomes you to YLES’10. :)

Haseeb Arshad Chaudhry, a senior at LUMS, is the Direcotor Printing and Internal Promotion for YLES 10. He is assisted by Hafiz Shoaib and Umair Baber Chisti. The printing department caters to all the printing needs of the summit. Everything you have, folders, pads, guidebook, tee shirts and other stuff has been under our responsibility. Concisely, you can say the printing department is the PEN and PAPER of LES. The Internal Promotions looks after all displayed material (such as backdrop, posters, banners and standees).
